water getting hotter
via itg
Yesterday my herbalist, Mark Mead, recommended that I use grapeseed oil instead of olive oil when cooking. In his words, “olive oil is heaven for the body when used raw. But when heated, it can actually produce toxins.” Find an organic brand that suits you. I’ve seen La Tourangelle recommended.
A blurb from Dr. Weil’s blog:
“While canola oil may have the lowest amount of saturated fat, and olive oilmore monounsaturated fats, grapeseed oil is still a useful addition to a healthy kitchen. Pressed from the tiny seeds of grapes, grapeseed oil is a good choice for salad dressings - it has a neutral taste, though some brands may have a slight grape flavor or aroma. It is also ideal for use as a cooking oil, especially for high-temperature cooking such as sautéing or stir-frying, since it can be heated to higher temperatures than canola oil before it starts to smoke. Try it out and see if you like it - look for an organic brand, store in a cool, dark place and don’t buy more than you can use up in a month or so.”

twenty years of schooling, i just never learned the math
that one and one don’t equal two, they often equal half
while i’ve tried to live the high life, the best that i know how
and i’ve bought my share of debonair, parlaying it on the crowd
oh i, i do believe that there’s no more tricks up my sleeve
the good old days have passed and the dip turns after that
and slowly i’ve become undone, a stranger with a stranger heart
